Whole Heart Equine - Meet the Team

Corey Cardenas
Founder of Whole Heart Equine

Corey Cardenas has been horse crazy for as long as she can remember, literally.  Now, since riding and training horses since she was 3, Corey is thrilled to be doing this amazing work between horses and people.  A shift has happened where now the horses are training her.  She has a deep love for people and helping people find what is true, deep and meaningful in their lives.  Corey is trained and certified by EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association) and HIGH (Horse Inspired Growth and Learning).  She is fortunate to have an amazing mentor, Suzi Landolphi of Big Heart Ranch, who has shared her expansiveness and inspiration.  Corey puts her heart and soul into this work and, because of that, she grows and changes everyday.

I am so honored to share the amazing insight that horses have and what they can teach us about ourselves.

Brenda BrownBrenda Brown
Volunteer at Whole Heart Equine

A native of Santa Barbara and brought up on a ranch in Montana, Brenda Brown has always found a sense of peace and solace with horses, especially while struggling with her own addiction.   Sober since April 10, 2010, Brenda has worked hard on her sobriety and recovery and understands that path and what it takes.  She has been the lead manager at The Giving Tree Sober Living Home for women since 2011, where she is truly able to serve these women from her own experience, helping them set boundaries and live an honest and clean life full of integrity.  Brenda is strong and vulnerable, honest and real.

I deeply believe that horses can help begin to break down barriers and encourage trust, acceptance and personal authenticity.  I know for me, and have seen in others, the way to a person’s heart is through the spirit of a horse.  Aho.”
